“After brainstorming for several months on what to call my blog, the vibe I wanted to create and how I envisioned it being read (while sipping tea, coffee or a soothing beverage), the name came to me...”

Many names made the shortlist, but this one kept coming back to me because I realized a trend in my life: My best ideas always come late night/early morning. Like 3 a.m. in the morning.

And, the name has significance for me as it is the title of a poem I wrote in college (my bad-ass Maya Angelou-Nikki Giovanni moment as a poet, if you will). It is the poem that I submitted for a Nikki Giovani poetry contest…and won. The winning poem was supposed to be published in her next poetry book but as life would have it, it didn’t happen. Am I still disappointed after all these years? A tad bit, but just knowing that my work was ‘good enough’ for Nikki is enough for me. Cue poetry finger snap.

My hope is that as you scroll through these pages over time, you’ll find yourself in a relaxed state of mind—inspired to dream big, do more of what you love and, perhaps, learn something that elevates or adds value to your day.
